Ata mefutar!

Avram_grant_chelsea_364716a As we report, the Jewish Chronicle has today published its list of the top 100 people most influential on the Jewish Community. The omission of The Apprentice's Alan Sugar is surprising. But even more remarkable is the omission of Chelsea's Avram Grant, especially given Chelsea's deserved and amazing victory over Man United the other day. Oh how the Man U supporters in our house wept that night. How we secret Chelsea fans gloated. (You have to be a bit secretive about it if you dare to support Chelsea in the little enclave of liberalism where we live, even though it is technically our 'local'.) Read the list in full on the JC website here, here and here.

Our own Danny Finkelstein is in at number 11. His comments, on learning of this, are barely fit for reproduction on a family newspaper blogsite. Think Captain Kirk speaking Clingon and you'll get the picture. I expect he'll have toned them down a bit when he writes about it in the newspaper tomorrow.

One man's "meat" Soreofhing? Quite.

Ditto 'talk'? No problem, it is my forte! Suspect though, in your world vision, such methods would entail closing my mouth permanently.

Ruth,

I concur, the omission of Avram Grant is remarkable, given the fact that he's occupied one of the most highly scrutinised football positions possible for the last 6 months. And he's done a bloody good job, given that when he stepped into the hotseat at Chelsea, it was a situation akin to having sacked Gordon Ramsey as your resteraunt chef and replaced him with a mate who runs the local kebab shop…

Still, as a Man Utd fan, it was no surprise to see us beat Chelsea to the Premiership (yaa boo sucks!). A tenner says that Abramovitch tries to nobble the Utd team when they get to Moscow. Dodgy hotel food, anyone?

And no Siralun either - had they seen last weeks Apprentice, I suspect that situation would have been rectified (the one where they went to get kosher meat and got halal instead. DOH!).

Can someone explain to me whats going on with Kate and Sorefhing?!

"feisty, intelligent, straight talking woman".....I thought for a moment that you were talking about Orla Guerin.

I suppose it's a case of one man's meat being another woman's poison.

But be careful Kate because "Ve hev vays of meking you talk".

Use of language is the ultimate 'give away' Soreofhing.

'Cut up'; condemned to the lavatory (s**t house); 'speared' i.e. crucified? UMMH! You would certainly have earned your 'stripes' in the Third Reich. Says more I think, about frustrated Jew haters than about anything Melanie Phillips has ever done or said.

Extraordinary, the extent to which feisty, intelligent, straight-talking women, enrage certain contributors. More relevant is the 'affiliation' paraded by such contributors .... 'we are all Hizbullah now' eh? You wish.

Upon seeing that Melanie Philips is included in the list, I decided the list should be cut up into squares and speared on a nail in the outhouse.
